Today as I walked through the capital, leaves and wind made earthy patterns, spreading a little magic into a grey and pensive day.
Having slowed my breathing down into yogic breaths I then enjoyed the crunch of urban soil beneath my feet. Inside the park was the scent of damp grass. Suddenly, a dog with clumsy feet chased after a ball causing a startled squirrel to disappeared forever up a tall tree.

Minutes earlier I had observed my self-talk as it churned up within me due to insecurity. My self-bullying words were…. you are not okay, you are not good enough, things won’t be alright. Who do you think you are?.Don’t rock the boat, pet and stay small!
Awareness though is everything.
Therefore, here are my easy meditation ideas to help generate acceptance of oneself.
- Spend the next 24 hours without judgement listening to your self-talk. What are you saying to yourself? Things like, stupid. You can’t do that. Etc… Make a note of them. Next, try and think of how you can switch each negative into a positive. So for example, I am useless could be changed into I am useful. Subtle changes can make big differences. Next, now that you are aware of your self-talk, remember to turn negative beliefs around into something positive.
- Next put on some nice winter clothes and wrap up warm, go for a walk and with every step inhale happiness and as you exhale let go of something that doesn’t serve you. You can do this as many times as you need. It’s a great meditation to do all year around.
Learn from mistakes and grow as a person by becoming the best version of yourself that you can.
3. Let go of shame and learn to forgive yourself and others at the same time set healthy boundaries to others on what you are and are not prepare to accept. Try to act not react.
4. Each night and every morning, sit for at least 2 minutes just listening to your breathing and being fully present. At the end of the meditation think of ten things you like about yourself. It can be small things or big!
Remember self-love if a gift to yourself!
Self-love is the great gift you can give yourself
Your self-worth is determined by you. You don’t have to depend on someone telling you who you are.- Beyoncé
