How to help others through meditation and love.
Healing, hope and connection are to me more important than ever. Due to what happened in the news over the past few weeks I decided to change my blog post to focus on the most powerful antidote to hate that I know: LOVE
It may sound a bit cliche’ but I feel ‘love’ and the power of love is something we can tap into more often if only we just sat with it instead of being afraid. Yes, love can bring up fear too!
To help heal those share a special meditation that I do when I feel the world needs a little healing.
You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.” Ghandi
Sit quietly in a space that you won’t be disturbed. Closing your eyes and enjoy a slower pace of breathing. Inhale, exhale with an elongated rhythm. If you feel the need to fidget just keep coming back to the breathing. Slow equals a calmer state of mind.
From your energetic heart centre ( the space in front of the heart) imagine a big beaming light of love emanating from your heart, so large and bright that it fills up the room. As you beam your love out into the world imagine love beaming down to you from the universal heart.
Keep going with it, deep slow breathing and allowing yourself to fill up with light. Allow the love to expand and grow.
Now imagine everyone on the planet holding hands in peace. Send that love to first person next to you and in turn imagine them passing the love on the next person and vice versa. The light is omniscient, all healing, all knowing.
Do this meditation daily, once or twice a day and it will allow you to feel more love and in turn, give more out to the world.
I believe love can heal the world and this meditation is the perfect antidote to hate.
